4th Lecture suggestions
Assalamu Alaikum brothers and sisters,
Here are the suggestions for the next lecture (Sunday 23rd March 2:30-4:30pm) Mawlaana and myself will decide on the topic by this Wednesday (12th March), so please leave comments in the space provided below!
- Science of Ihsan/Tasawwuf/Sufism (practical advice and books to read)
- Signs of the day of Judgement
- Relationships with non-muslims
- Muslims in Australia – Challenges and opportunities (working towards civil engagement)
- The Etiquettes of Da’wah (with perhaps an intro on Etiquettes in general…
)
- FAQs by non-Muslims
- Islamic Obligations/Responsibilities relating to Personal Wealth
Categories: Tassawuf (Spirituality)
Salaams everyone!
I think all of these suggestions are great, but i think a session on ‘Etiquettes in Islam’ is very important. This would be a great follow up session to the last lecture on marriage. These are also very practical ideas to help us all in our daily lives. I really want to continue the series with more questions and answers as i feel this really engaged people on Sunday. Do people like the questions in the bucket thing?

I like the idea of a general Etiquettes lecture as well; it’s general topic that everyone could benefit from.
It seems that eople are more comfortable to put questions in the container too.
Salam everyone
I’m also keen to hear a lecture about Etiquette in Islam. I think a lot of people out there need a lesson or two about it! hehe
I’m also interested in the Relationships with Non-Muslims. I think this would also be extremely important to know more about because many of us work with Non-Muslims, go to school/uni with them, have family who are Non-Muslims, even best friends who are Non-Muslims. It would be extremely valuable to know more about the kind of permissable and inpermissable relationships we can have with them.
My two cents!
Salaams everyone,
I will be sending out the group email today inshallah, with the next lectures topic. I personally think the topic on relationships with non-muslims and etiquettes can be grouped together. Mawlaana has informed me that since his is very busy at the momment, he doesnt have a great deal of time to organise a lecture on ‘etiquettes in islam/non-muslims’. But he has some pre-made material on another worthy and very interesting topic from the list,he will talk about. The fifth lecture will be on ‘etiquetes in islam/non-muslim relations’ inshallah.

Assalamu Alaikum Gerard
Just thinking aloud – if you decide on talking about your ‘journey to Islam’, it may tie in better with the “relationships with non-muslims and etiquettes” topic? As an intro maybe?
Be warned, people may have heaps of questions though, for YOU!
